A very widely known and highly-respected lady, Mrs Ellen WATKINS, passed away in Toowoomba, on March 24, in a private hospital.
Born in Armidale, she married Robert Watkins of Ipswich, in 1865 and spent most of her life in Warwick, Charleville and Toowoomba. The deceased lady was of a very admirable disposition, which made her many friends.
The funeral cortege left St Patrick’s Church, Toowoomba, for the railway station en route for Brisbane. The deceased lady was interred with her late husband in the South Brisbane Cemetery. The very Rev Monsignor Byrne and Rev Father McGoldrick officiated at the graveside. Funeral arrangements were in the hands of Rosenstengel’s, undertakers Toowoomba, and K M Smith, Brisbane
