On Tuesday, the 5th inst., at the No. 1 Methodist Church, by the Rev. A. Hutchison, George Owen Martin Smith was married to Miss Tillie Robins, daughter of Mr. Thomas Robins.

The bride was given away by her father and was attired in a white tucked Oriental silk blouse, trimmed with Edelweiss lace insertion. The design of the skirt was unique, being tucked with good effect, and trim med forming a point finish in front. She wore a tulle veil and orange blossoms and gold watch and chain, and carried a beautiful bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom.

The bridesmaid, Miss Daking Smith, wore a dress of cream silk brocaded eolienne, tucked and trimmed with strappings of French mirrow velvet and real lace. The skirt was very elegant, and original in design of trimming. Effective hat, made of two layers of white fancy straw with flowers (Cowslips) inserted between, bunch of cowslips centre of crown, green stalks formed a finish. Large broad rim turned down at back and finished with jewel ornament. She carried a shower bouquet of roses, which, with a brooch in pearls, was the gift of the bridegroom.

A carpet was laid from the entrance to the communion rail, and the church, which was beautifully decorated with flowers, was crowded with spectators.

The happy pair left for Townsville in the evening train. The bride went away in a grey French, voile costume, trimmed with grey silk strappings match. Semi vest of white chiffon and Paris coloured lace. Hat of cream lace straw double rim with flowers (Hydrangea) inserted. Crown of foliage, broad in front and turned down smartly at the back with jewel ornament and large velvet bow.
